The Story of the Port Arthur Icon of the Theotokos
Holy Cross Monastery is blessed with a large copy of the Port Arthur Icon of the Mother of God, which prominently adorns the narthex of our chapel. Every year we observe the feast of this icon on May 26th, the anniversary of our arrival in West Virginia back in 2000. Since the history of this icon is not well known, we are happy to present it here. The text of the story can be found on our website.
