Show Notes

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Michigan Weather Podcast for Wednesday, February 25th. That third of an inch of snow overnight? Just winter tapping you on the shoulder. Don't get too comfortable.. Because the wind today is the real troublemaker. Gusts hitting 24 miles an hour across Southeast Michigan, turning 35 degrees into something that stings. Folks, down in the southeast you got mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Enjoy that sunshine, because it's doing all the heavy lifting. Tonight dips to 18 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Thursday? Carbon copy. Mostly sunny, high of 35 degrees again. Slide west and the clouds thicken up. Grand Rapids and the lakeshore top out near 31 degrees, then temperatures actually start falling through the afternoon. That's the kind of day where it gets colder the longer you're outside. Tonight drops to 16 degrees. Thursday brings partial sun and a high of 34 degrees. Now the Upper Peninsula is running its own weather show entirely. A Winter Weather Advisory covers Alger, Luce. And Northern Schoolcraft Counties until 7 P.M. tonight. Lake effect snow keeps piling on, with another 2 inches possible. High only 23 degrees, wind chills around 5 degrees by late afternoon. Tonight bottoms out at 12 degrees. Thursday brings more scattered snow showers and 31 degrees. So what's the plot twist this week? Friday. Southeast Michigan jumps to 51 degrees. West Michigan hits 50. Even up north climbs to 44 degrees. February pulling a fast one. Savor every minute of it.. Because a cold front crashes the party Friday night. Saturday brings snow chances statewide. Highs tumble back into the 20s and 30s. Sunday stays cold and blustery. Quick bright spot. Sunrise at 7:22 A.M., sunset at 6:23 P.M. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight every day now. Spring equinox is three weeks out. Charge up those phones tonight. That 18 degrees low has a way of draining batteries and patience. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
