Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Michigan Weather Podcast for Monday, February 23rd. That dusting of snow this morning? Just a couple tenths of an inch. Winter's way of tapping you on the shoulder. Step outside right now and you're feeling 21 degrees. Folks, it's going down from here. Southeast Michigan, you've got snow showers possible before 3 P.M. But the wind is the real troublemaker. Gusts to 26 miles an hour out of the north. Temperatures actually slide backward this afternoon. You're at 29 degrees at noon, dropping to 25 by 3 P.M. Tonight bottoms out at 16 degrees. Wind chills near 9 around 3 A.M. Tomorrow, more snow sneaks in after 1 P.M. With highs near 34 degrees. Swing over to West Michigan. Sunny skies today, but don't let that fool you. Highs only hit 28 degrees, then freefall to 15 overnight. Winds shift from north to east around 3 A.M. Tuesday brings snow showers, especially after 1 P.M. Highs reach 36 degrees with less than an inch of accumulation. Now push north. This is where it gets serious. Highs today barely scratch 21 degrees. A slight chance of snow before 4 P.M. Tonight crashes to 8 degrees.. Feeling like 8 degrees with the wind around 4 A.M. Tuesday and Tuesday night, a clipper system unloads. One to 3 inches during the day, then another 2 to 4 overnight. Gusts to 35 miles an hour mean blowing snow near Lake Superior. You'll want to rethink any travel plans up there. Now for the plot twist. That clipper clears out Wednesday. A few straggler flurries hang around. Then Friday.. Highs jump to 41 in Southeast Michigan. West Michigan touches 45 degrees. Even up north hits 42. Your coat might actually feel optional for a few hours. Don't get too comfortable, though. Another cold front crashes the party over the weekend, dragging us back into the 20s and 30s with snow showers. I'll be tracking that clipper all night. Charge your phone and keep the scraper handy. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
