Show Notes

Good morning. Michigan. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you'll wonder if someone fast-forwarded us straight to April. We're sitting at 46 degrees. And we're just getting started. Sunshine owns the day across Michigan with temperatures climbing 25 degrees above normal. Southeast Michigan hits 66 degrees with breezy southwest winds gusting to 25 miles an hour. West Michigan reaches 64 degrees — gusts near the lakeshore could touch 32 miles an hour. Up north, you're topping out near 60 degrees with gusts to 35 possible. A few spots could challenge daily record highs if the sun really delivers. Tonight stays mild. Southeast Michigan drops to 50 degrees. West Michigan settles near 47. Northern Michigan cools to 36 under partly cloudy skies. Tuesday brings clouds and a temperature split. Southeast Michigan reaches 65 degrees with light rain possible after 7 A.M. West Michigan hits 64 degrees with a slight chance of showers after 2 P.M. Northern Michigan stays cooler at 48 as clouds thicken. The real story develops Tuesday night. Heavy rain and thunderstorms move in across southern Michigan early Wednesday morning. Rainfall totals could hit one to two inches. Northern areas face a tricky mix of freezing rain and snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. Wednesday turns messy statewide. Rain and possible thunderstorms continue across the south with highs near 58. Northern Michigan sees freezing rain and snow mixing in — one to three inches possible with highs struggling to reach the low 30s. Behind that system, colder air returns. Thursday brings mostly sunny skies but cooler temps in the low 40s. Another clipper system Friday could bring accumulating snow, especially across central Michigan. Enjoy the warmth today. It doesn't stick around long. See you this afternoon.
