Show Notes
Good afternoon. Michigan. I'm Aaron Jolly.
Step outside and you'll feel spring making a serious push. Southwest winds are gusting to 36 miles an hour statewide. And they're bringing warmth with them.
Down in Southeast Michigan, you're climbing to 58 degrees under sunny skies. Over in Grand Rapids and Muskegon, expect 55 degrees with mostly sunny conditions. Up north near Traverse City, you'll hit 51 degrees with partly sunny skies. That wind stays brisk through the afternoon before backing off tonight.
Overnight stays mild. Southeast Michigan drops to 45 degrees. West Michigan settles near 46 degrees. Northern Michigan cools to 44 degrees. Those southwest winds keep blowing at 10 to 15 miles an hour.
Monday brings the real heat. Southeast Michigan soars to 66 degrees — that's 25 degrees above normal for early March. West Michigan reaches 64 degrees. Even up north, you'll hit 60 degrees. Sunshine dominates statewide with breezy southwest winds.
For the week. Tuesday stays warm with highs in the mid to upper 60s before everything changes. Late Tuesday night into Wednesday, a low pressure system tracks through bringing rain, thunderstorms. And eventually a mix of rain and snow Wednesday night. Northern Michigan could see 1 to 2 inches of accumulation. Behind that system, temperatures crash to the 30s Thursday with lingering snow showers possible. Another round of mixed precipitation looks likely Friday.
Enjoy the spring preview today and tomorrow. Winter's got one more punch left.
See you this evening.
