Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Step outside right now and you'll feel something rare. Calm. A cold front blew through overnight. and high pressure is sliding in behind it. That's giving us this gorgeous clear sky. but don't get too comfortable. A snow band is already organizing to our west. and it's got Michigan's name on it. In the next 24 hours. Right now. Southeast Michigan sits at 34 degrees. Drive west to Grand Rapids and the thermometer drops to 26. Push up north? A biting 17 degrees with gusty northwest winds that'll make your eyes water. Today plays out like the calm before the punch. Southeast Michigan climbs to 40 degrees under sunny skies. Grand Rapids tops out around 33 as clouds thicken this afternoon. Northern Michigan stays locked in the low 20s under gray skies all day. Then around 7 P.M., snow starts filling in from west to east. West Michigan catches the heaviest band. 1 to 3 inches possible along and north of I-96. Southeast Michigan picks up about an inch. Northern Michigan sees 1 to 2 inches in spots before it all tapers off by early Sunday morning. And folks. Sunday morning is going to sting. Wind chills drop to 16 degrees in Detroit, 11 in Grand Rapids. and a raw 4 degrees up north. That's the kind of cold where your car door handle fights back. Sunday highs barely scratch the upper 20s. Looking ahead. Monday stays cold but sunny. Tuesday brings a wintry mix nobody asked for. but then. Plot twist. By Thursday, highs surge into the mid 50s with rain. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight every day now. Spring equinox is just 20 days out. Charge your phone tonight and keep the snow brush handy. You'll need both by morning. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.
