Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Step outside and you mightn't believe it's still February. We're starting at 31 degrees under clear skies. By this afternoon. Much of Lower Michigan hits 52 degrees. That's well above normal for late February. In the next 24 hours. Southeast Michigan enjoys sunny skies today. Southwest winds gust to 25 miles an hour. Tonight turns partly cloudy with a low of 34 degrees. West Michigan also hits 52 degrees. Winds gust up to 30 miles an hour this afternoon. Tonight brings partly cloudy skies and a low of 26 degrees. Head north and it's a different story. Northern Michigan reaches 45 degrees under partly sunny skies. Tonight temperatures plunge to 17 degrees. Winds gust to 35 miles an hour. A High Wind Warning covers Keweenaw and Houghton Counties from 1 P.M. To 1 A.M. Gusts could hit 60 miles an hour up there. Now for the weekend. Winter returns. Saturday brings snow to much of the state. West Michigan sees 1 to 3 inches Saturday afternoon and evening. Southeast Michigan picks up 1 to 2 inches Saturday night. Northern Michigan stays colder with highs only in the low 20s. Sunday is the coldest day. Highs hold in the 20s statewide. Single-digit lows Sunday night in the north. Next week brings a gradual warm-up. Temperatures climb back into the 40s by Wednesday. Rain returns late next week. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight today. Sunrise is at 7:18.
