When we are met with a friend or family member in pain — or grief, sadness, really any emotion — our instinct is to console them, to somehow help relieve their discomfort or even fix their pain. Here's the problem: that doesn't help. There is way to help others with their pain but it's not what you'd think. When we demonstrate awareness, love, and willingness to be present in another's pain, it provides a platform for change, and that's what we're going to teach you how to do on the show today.
