Show Notes
Good morning. Maryland. I'm Aaron Jolly.
Folks, remember that half inch of snow from overnight? Yeah, it's already gone. A stalled front is draped right across the Mid-Atlantic. And cold air damming has us trapped under a gray, damp ceiling. That wedge of chilly air is why we're stuck in the low 40s today. And why round after round of rain keeps rolling in.
In the next 24 hours. Step outside right now and you'll feel 37 degrees with fog clinging to everything. That damp chill cuts right through your jacket.
Baltimore Metro tops out around 41 degrees this afternoon. Patchy fog, maybe a sprinkle. The real rain arrives this evening, peaking around 7 P.M. Expect a soggy night with lows holding at 41.
Slide west into central Maryland and it's a similar story. Highs near 42 degrees with fog that just won't quit. Rain becomes steady around 8 P.M. Overnight lows sit at 42.
Out in western Maryland, rain is already falling. Showers pick up tonight with up to half an inch possible. Lows dip to 39 with fog rolling in behind the rain.
Wednesday? More of the same. Showers statewide, highs near 50 degrees, that stubborn northeast wind keeping things cool.
Now here comes the plot twist. Thursday, that warm front finally lifts north. Temperatures surge into the 60s. Friday and Saturday? Upper 60s to low 70s. Spring showing up two weeks early. The trade off is daily shower and thunderstorm chances through the weekend. But honestly, we need it. Moderate drought conditions are hanging over the region.
Quick note on tonight's full moon. Good luck spotting it through all those clouds. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now though. Sunrise was 6:38, sunset at 6:02.
Keep that umbrella within arm's reach tonight. You're going to need it more than once this week.
