Good morning! I'm DJ Huzz, and welcome to the Maine Weather Podcast. It's Sunday, February 22nd. Folks, enjoy that coffee by the window today. Those clear skies and sunshine? That's the calm before something wicked heads our way. Right now you're waking up to a dusting of fresh snow. Barely two tenths of an inch. Nothing to write home about. But here's what matters. A nor'easter is loading up off the coast, and by tonight it starts knocking on our door. Down in Portland, you're seeing a gorgeous 35 degrees today. Soak up every minute. Snow rolls in around 11 PM and just keeps coming. Six to ten inches by Monday night. Winds gusting to 45 miles an hour near the shore. Monday's morning commute? Blowing snow turns visibility into a coin flip. York County, listen up. A Coastal Flood Watch kicks in Monday afternoon. High tide could bring splashover, beach erosion, and road closures near the coast. Head inland toward Augusta and Waterville. Four to eight inches Monday with gusts to 35 miles an hour. Manageable but messy. Now drive north to Bangor. Sunny and 35 degrees today, then five to nine inches of snow Monday with gusts to 40 miles an hour. Up in The County, you're starting at a brisk 5 degrees this morning, climbing to 31 degrees. Monday dumps five to nine inches with blowing snow that'll make Route 1 feel like a dare. The western mountains dodge the heavy stuff. Just a dusting. But overnight lows drop to minus 2. That's frostbite territory if you're not covered up. Now let me walk you through the week ahead. Monday's nor'easter dominates everything. Wednesday a clipper system slides through with light snow. Enough to slick up the roads again. Friday teases another storm, this time a rain and snow mix. But Saturday? We bounce back to 40 degrees. A little February gift before March shows up swinging. One quick thing. If this podcast helps you plan your week, share it with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps us going. Charge your phone tonight. Check that flashlight. Move the car before the plows roll through. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
