But against that rather depressing backdrop, the Psalmist proclaims the glorious truth that God himself does not change. The Lord is the Unchanging One. According to one Barna study, the average pastor lasts only five years at a given church—often leaving just when, statistically speaking, he would be approaching his greatest period of usefulness. In a world of such short pastoral tenures, what does it look like to minister in the same place for not just years but decades? <p> "There's joy and hope in a life redefined. A redefined life is a life worth celebrating." That's how Dr. Rai describes her journey into motherhood. The dreams she and her husband had to begin a family weren't realized naturally, as infertility and miscarriage held them back. Through prayer and faith, Alisha moved toward invitro fertilization where she became pregnant and carried a baby boy for most of her term. Listen as she describes the pain and confusion that followed a very complicated premature birth than lead to her baby acquiring cerebral palsy.
