There is something that we as parents do and we have no clue we are doing it. It is called, "well-meaning abdication". Let me explain. We spend top dollar or at least we scurry around to make sure our children get an "education".
All the while, we have gone through the education system and we know that it doesn't work, it doesn't serve everyone, and at least it doesn't bring out the best of our children's gifts and talents.
But we send them there anyway, sit back and fold our hands and wait for report cards at the end of the term, wait to see which mighty high schools they will attend and so on.
Breaking News: That dog no longer hunts. We have to be life coaches to our children. Listen to this.
