Show Notes

Krista, the CEO of MYTIME Carers, talks about the definition and responsibilities of a young carer, who predominantly go unnoticed within their schools and communities.

She highlights the many challenges a young carer might face in their daily life, especially caring for a parent with a life-limiting illness, and the impact this can have on their school and social life as well as the long-term implications, and how they can be identified and supported.

About Forest Holme Hospice:

Forest Holme Hospice provides palliative and end-of life-care and support to more than 1,500 people each year across Poole, Wimborne and the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset with advanced cancer and other life-limiting illnesses such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s, heart disease and respiratory illness.

Forest Holme Hospice Charity was set-up to ensure that everyone in the local community affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement gets the care and support they need, either at home or in our dedicated hospice facility.
