The Delta 8 Debate
D8, Delta 8, Delta 8 THC is popping up everywhere. It showed up in force at NoCo Hemp Expo a little over a month ago and seems to be the hottest thing in hemp currently. But does it belong under the hemp umbrella? Does Delta 8 get you high? Should Delta 8 be regulated like CBD and other non-intoxicating cannabinoids that have become popular consumer health supplements? Hemp-derived CBD supplements that, by the way, still need a clear regulatory pathway defined by the FDA. Or should Delta 8 be regulated alongside Delta 9 THC, in the adult use system, or maybe in some other manner? These questions and more will be discussed with this week's guest Marielle Weintraub, president of the US Hemp Authority, the hemp industry’s self-regulating organization that provides certification for high standards.
