Show Notes

Medical school tuition is always hard to afford even in the best of times. It becomes much harder to afford in a country hit by one of the worst financial crises this century. Instead of falling into despair, Jad Boustani, Amal Masrii, Jessica Badawi, and multiple other medical students from most medical schools in Lebanon came together and started the Medical Campaign.

These students devised several age-appropriate medical curricula and started teaching Zoom classes to Lebanese expat kids of all ages collecting tuition from these kids, which helped them pay medical tuition in dollars for medical students in Lebanon who could not afford their tuition. In one year, this campaign has spread to 26 countries across the world and has been able to cover the tuition in dollars of around 20 medical students in Lebanon. These students are teaching all of us a lesson in fighting despair and spreading positivity and knowledge.
