Show Notes

Lichen planopilaris is an autoimmune-mediated disorder with scarring hair loss. Dr. Bodemer identifies the clinical signs of lichen planopilaris (LPP), describes the autoimmune pathogenesis of lichen planopilaris, talks about the three main variants, lists some of the lifestyle factors and supplements that may be helpful in treating this condition, and helps to understand the role low dose naltrexone (LDN) may play in treating LPP. As an autoimmune disease, there is increased risk of other autoimmune conditions, with thyroid being the most common. The treatment goal is to slow down the inflammation and to limit the extent of permanent damage.
