S1 Ep 19Episode Nineteen. Hear these Words
Sometimes in my darker moments I look at all l've done, and all I will do, and ask, What does it add up to?" Such a small and inadequate being I am-the things that I make so few-_the thoughts that l've written down so sparse. Other people have done so much more.Tonight the answer came to me: a life. It adds up to a life. Nothing more, nothing less. I can't quantify the value of my existence according to the number of pictures made or essays written. What I can do is work hard and live. Live it out.And listen. My soul knows where it wants to go, but often I'm unwilling to trust the inner voice, to relax and be led. I don't control my growth. I nurture it and often just get out of the way and let it happen.I can't take my pictures or my words with me. But I may take with me what Ibecome.—Brian H Peterson The Blossoming of the World Essays & Images.

S1 Ep 12Episode Twelve. Don’t Pick up The Rope
Have you heard the expression "don't pick up the rope"? I first came upon it in a book about codependency while supporting my son through his struggles with alcohol and addiction. Time and time again, I found myself trapped in unproductive cycles, engaging in conflicts that led nowhere. This expression encourages us to let go of the need to have the last word, and to instead prioritize our own well being and personal journey. You might be thinking. What does this have to do with creativity?Admittedly, it might not be an obvious connection. But on my walk to the studio, I was thinking how social media, our phones, and the limitless access to endless inspo can be a bit like the rope. We can choose not to pick it up and to stay focused on our unique vision, calling, or creative path. This idea might resonate with you or, perhaps, you, like me, simply needed a reminder that we don't have to pick up the rope in conversations that ultimately lead us nowhere. Just round and round.Thank you always for listening. And as always I’d love to hear your thoughts. xxKim

S1 Ep 11Episode Eleven. Break the Stuck Cycle: From Idea to Action with a Few Intentional Steps
Feeling stuck and uninspired? The overwhelming amount of inspiration available to us today might be the exact reason you’re feeling this way. Today, let’s talk about the concept of endless inspiration and how to use it more intentionally verses hoarding ideas we never return to.Quick AnnouncementsMake sure to join my email list for exciting updates and exclusive content.Interested in learning more about the Milanote Mood Board Mastery Workshop? Check out the details here.Once Upon a TimeWe found inspiration through books, magazines, galleries, face-to-face conversation with creative friends. There was magic in the quiet. And NowToday, we spend hours scrolling through social media, constantly consuming new ideas but rarely acting on them. This over-inspiration and information overload can be overwhelming, leaving us feeling stuck and uninspired. A More Intentional Process for Gathering Inspiration and Taking ActionIf you’re caught in the scroll and feeling less than inspired. Try this.Take a break from scrolling: Pause your social media consumption for a day and give your brain a chance to breathe.Write out your thoughts: Jot down all the ideas and to-dos swirling in your head to declutter your mind.Gather inspiration intentionally: Use platforms like Pinterest to search for specific inspiration related to your project. Intentionally save images that resonate with you and move on to the next step.Create a mood board: Using an app like Milanote, organize the images you've gathered and make notes on why you saved the images to your board.Plan your project: Identify the supplies you'll need for your own creative project and set a timeline for taking action. Where and when will you make this happen.Take action: With your mood board and plan in place, begin, using your gathered inspiration as a guide. The Power of Intentional InspirationAt first, this process might seem like a lot of work, but it's worth the effort. By intentionally gathering and analyzing inspiration, you'll move from feeling overwhelmed and stuck to actually taking action and creating something of your own.Remember, clarity comes when we quiet the noise and allow our own creative voice to shine through. So take a break from endless scrolling, gather inspiration intentionally, and unleash your creativity today. To see my Milanote process in action watch my step-by-step tutorial, and find out more about my Milatutorialnote Mood Board Masterclass as well.

S1 Ep 10Episode Ten. This is Blowing My Mind
I accidentally (maybe not accidentally at all) stumbled upon a new-to-me inspiration this week. Trevor MoawadIn 2021, Trevor Moawad passed away at the age of 48. He was a sport psychologist who had worked with notable professional athletes such as Russell Wilson and authored the books "It Takes What It Takes" and "Getting to Neutral."Though I have only just begun exploring his ideas, I am eager to share what I have learned so far.Pour a cuppa, put in your earbuds and have a little listen. And as always, I’d love to hear your thoughts, in the comments or in my Insta-Dm’s.Links+Getting to Neutral by Trevor Moawad+The Momentum MethodIf you’re enjoying the podcast be sure to subscribe on your favorite podcast app. And I would LOVE it if you’d leave a review and/or 5 stars. ♡ xxKim

S1 Ep 9Episode Nine. Gentle Things Can Be Done
I love this entry from Julia Cameron’s Artists Way Everyday book. When we are unable to work we can work at the work of getting ready to work. Writers can lay in supplies of paper and enticing pens, notepads that plead “Please write on me.” Painters can prepare their canvases, clean their brushes, neaten their studio space. Potters can acquire a new lump of cool clay and clear the table space where they will knead and shape it. Gentle things can be done.Whether you’re feeling inspired, so-so or completely stuck, creatively or in any part of life. This beautiful wisdom from Julia Cameron is one to hold on to.Gentle things can be done.”HTTP://kimklassen.com
