“President Trump brought home an American citizen wrongfully detained in Russia and another American detained in Belarus — the tenth and eleventh hostages freed since he took office. Michael McFaul, U.S. Ambassador to Russia under President Obama, reacted to Marc Fogel’s release and said: ‘Hallelujah! Fantastic news! Praise be to President Donald Trump ... This is just fantastic news for anybody who cares about patriotic Americans.’”
Our Take:
While Biden’s foreign policy resembled a game of pin the tail on the donkey—blindfolded and spinning—Trump secured the release of two more Americans, bringing the total to eleven hostages freed. Even Obama’s former Russia ambassador, Michael McFaul, couldn’t help but praise Trump. Meanwhile, Biden’s team was probably too busy renaming post offices or adding pronouns to their email signature.
