The digital-first investment platform now has over $1Bn under management and is well on its way to incredible success. But before launching Ellevest in 2016, Sallie challenged the status quo as one of the highest-ranked women ever to have worked on Wall Street. That came tumbling to a halt in 2008 when she was fired from Citi for standing up for what she believed. I have fangirled Sallie since I first read about the chaos. And even more so when she decided to follow her passion and commitment by starting Elevest. It’s a beautiful and noble mission and story.
