Vancouver among the least transparent cities when it comes to ownership

A report from Transparency International Canada has found that Canada is 'one of the most opaque jurisdictions when it comes to ownership of private companies and trusts" and says that because of this, almost half of Vancouver's most luxurious homes have been bought using shell companies to disguise the identity of the real owners. The report calls on the Canadian government to insure all companies in trust in Canada identify their beneficial owners, and that the information also be made public.
