In the BC Labour Market Outlook released the other day, it’s forecasted:
Nearly 80% of the one million job openings expected in the next decade will require some type of post-secondary training or education.
Of these job openings, 63% are to replace workers leaving the labour force (mainly through retirement) and 37% are new job expansions created through economic growth
Five industries will generate about half of all jobs over the next ten years in British Columbia:
- Health care/social assistance
- Professional/scientific/technical services
- Retail trade
- Construction
- Educational services
