Indigenous land claim decision: one of the most significant property law decisions in B.C. history?

B.C. Supreme Court has decided that Aboriginal title supersedes fee simple ownership, and that the province’s land title system doesn’t shield private property owners from such claims.

If upheld, it could reshape how property rights and Indigenous title coexist across the province.
