Sexual extortion takes many forms. As social media sharing becomes more accessible to today’s teens and youth, so does the exploitation of these users. Unlike providing private information like credit card numbers to online retailers, sending an intimate photo doesn’t come with terms and conditions before you click “send”. During B.C.’s Stop the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Youth Awareness Week, Children of the Street Society, in partnership with Cossette, have launched a campaign to highlighting the tactics that online predators use to exploit youth. http://www.childrenofthestreet.com/
