Canada Post ends Neighbourhood Mail

Canada Post’s decision to halt its ‘neighbourhood mailing’ service is rippling through communities across the country. For small businesses and arts organizations, it was one of the most cost-effective ways to reach their audiences. The Firehall Arts Centre here in Vancouver has relied on this targeted mailing every year to connect with patrons in nearby neighbourhoods. Now, faced with the sudden loss of that tool, the Firehall is left with a $13,000 bill for printing brochures it can’t use — and no affordable alternative to get the word out about its shows
