Prof Nando Ferreira from SU’s Division of Orthopaedics in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) talkS about the new orthopaedic procedure that can drastically improve the lives of leg amputees. The procedure involves the surgical implantation of a new type of prosthesis (OGAP-OPL) that does away with traditional suction sockets by directly attaching an amputee’s prosthetic limb to the skeleton.
