Today we have the distinct privilege of inviting Dr. R. Scott Clark to talk to him about predestination and the divine decree. In this special episode he helped us understand the development of the doctrine of the decree in Western Christianity, why the Federal Vision gets it wrong, and what pastoral and practical application we should find in this chapter…and much more (with some cowbell!). Be sure to listen to this great interview!
Dr. Clark is a minister in the United Reformed Church and professor of historical theology at Westminster Seminary in Escondido, CA. He has written and edited number of extremely good and useful books including: Caspar Olevian and the Substance of the Covenant of Grace, Covenant, Justification, and Pastoral Ministry, Protestant Scholasticism: Essays in Reassessment (with Carl Trueman), Recovering the Reformed Confession (recommended by the Jerusalem Chamber as a must read!), and an outstanding little book Baptism, Election, and the Covenant of Grace (one of Kyle’s favorite books on baptism!). He also regularly blogs over at www.Heidelblog.net and is an expert podcaster at The Heidelcast (putting us to shame).
