It was not a surprise to me when the Supreme Court dismissed the Wasim Rizvi petition. Art. 32 jurisdiction is narrow. However, what was most distressing was that the Bench chose to impose a fine and to provide a nearly iron-clad certificate to the Qur'an, which we all know from direct behavioural evidence and all the tafsirs that it preaches violence against the non-believer. The wannabe Caliph - Recep Tayyip Erdogan said it so many words - 'Our God commands us to be violent to the Kuffar.'
