Nepal was a Hindu Rashtra till 2008, when it was turned secular under Communist influence. In 2015, secularism was defined as 'protection of santan religion and culture, and religious and cultural freedom'. Now a referendum to formally declare it a Hindu Rashtra is on the anvil.
