As the scrappy Farmers' Protest enters its 8th month on the borders of Delhi, all its leaders have lost their reputation, their hold over farmers, their backers have lost their funds, and there appears to be no sign of the government wilting. Like the proverbial Bhasmasura, has the movement started devouring its own protagonists as the farmers at large seem totally unconcerned with this movement of no consequence.
