Four countries—France, the UK, Canada, and Malta—plan to recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in September, citing the crisis in Gaza. Trump and Israel strongly opposed the move, calling it a reward for terror. Canada tied recognition to Palestinian Authority reforms and the exclusion of Hamas.
