The European Council is expected to endorse the draft Brexit withdrawal text when it meets this Sunday 25th November. Theresa May appears to have seen off the detractors within the Tory party for now, but the real challenge for the British Prime Minister will come in the form of parliamentary arithmetic when she attempts to get that deal through the House of Commons. Later: Last week the former president of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos was given the Tipperary International Peace Award in recognition of his role in brokering a peace deal with FARC, bringing to an end 50 years of violence in his country.
