Subcontinental drift: India’s covid spike

<p>A hurried lockdown early in the pandemic has cratered the country’s economy, and infection rates are now shooting up. More suffering <a href="https://www.economist.com/asia/2020/09/03/indias-economy-shrinks-by-a-quarter-as-covid-19-gathers-pace?utm_campaign=the-intelligence&utm_medium=podcast&utm_source=third-party-host&utm_content=show-notes" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">lies ahead</a>, on both counts.
