Paige Behan was left angry, scared and humiliated after being turned away from Dublin's St James’s Hospital on August 15. She presented herself with a wound infection, bleeding and symptoms of nausea and was looking for urgent medical care while recovering from Sexual Reassignment Surgery which took place in that month.
