In the early hours of Friday morning, shock news broke, that Siún Ní Raghallaigh, chair of the RTÉ board had resigned, having lost confidence from Media Minister Catherine Martin over her involvement in the golden handshake deals that are engulfing the broadcaster in scandal. But Ní Raghallaigh’s resignation statement has brought the controversy directly to the government's doorstep, having claimed that she had in fact given Catherine Martin's office, knowledge of the controversial exit deals.
