The I in Us with Pidgeon Pagonis 18 September 2025

On this episode of The I in Us Cody and Paul welcomed Pidgeon Pagonis to the show. Pidgeon is an internationally renowned, Chicago-based intersex activist, artist, and media disruptor. Pidgeon co-founded the Intersex Justice Project. Also, they are a face of National Geographic’s Gender Revolution. Pidgeon brought intersex issues to global audiences through writing, film, and art. Their memoir “Nobody Needs to Know” and short films “A Normal Girl “and “The Son I Never Had” uplift intersex voices and push against erasure. Pidgeon’s work exposes the ongoing harms done to intersex children in the name of “normalcy.” Further, they insist on a broader truth: intersex bodies have always existed and always belonged. Although the work is not finished, intersex activists, artists, and organizers have made justice impossible to ignore. Overall, the message is clear: fix your hearts, not our parts. Important: should any part of this episode be disturbing in any way, please contact https://www.joy.org.au/support This conversation will enthrall, challenge and, inspire you as Paul, Cody and Pidgeon delve into some tough but important topics, and later, on a lighter note, find out what makes Pidgeon human. joy.org.au/theiinus ENJOY!
