Ep 128Self-Authority: There and Back Again (HOS128)
EToday, I’m joined by Eric Grace and our special guest, Frank, to discuss his journey of EBE which began way back in the days of 1.0. Topics include why the collapse of the first version of the paradigm was a good thing, cultic dynamics, how a paradigm can’t evolve if it’s protector mediated, how Sagehood and Personhood work can co-exist, the nature of healthy authority dynamics, and more. And I have a secret. The podcast event of the season, episode 129 of the Heart of Soul with Stace Barron back in the saddle, is already dropped, but only for members. That’s right, podcast members got it early. The rest of you will have to wait until May 29 for this special episode where we do a deep dive into the overemphasis of yin and paradigmatic entropy. This is an important topic we’re doing a series on, so be looking for that. Thanks very much to our podcast members. Our first second Sunday event was a hit. We had a great conversation about instinctual variants in enneagram type, the aforementioned excess yin issue, and a lot more. It was a beautiful and vulnerable conversation and I hope more of you will come next time. Our next members-only second Sunday will be June 8, and we’d love to have you if you’re not already a member. If you want to support the podcast, the paradigm, and be part of cutting edge developments in Edenity in a two way conversation, and can spare 5 bucks a month please become a member. Ep 126Narcissism, Altruism, Mutuality, and Clear Thinking (HOS126)
EToday, I’m joined by Casey Keth and Eric Grace to discuss the paradigms of Trillium and Waking Down, how narcissism and altruism are two sides of the same coin, and another exciting edition of Guess the Guru. Thanks very much to our new podcast members for being early adopters. Our first members-only second Sunday will be May 11, and we’d love to have you if you’re not already a member. If you want to support the podcast, the paradigm, and yourself by hanging out with us in a two way conversation, and can spare 5 bucks a month please become a member. Ep 125The Gift of Suffering & How Puppets Can Help (HOS125)
EThe gift of suffering, soul age and consciousness capacity, transcendence, the enneagrammatic roots of Islam and Christianity, among other things. Ep 124Embracing Existential Not-Knowing (HOS124)
ETo tip us or become a member please visit: clearandopen.com/hosToday, I’m joined by Casey Keth and Eric Grace to discuss the wounded existential not-knowing, the loss of will, yin and yang in service, among other topics. And I have a big announcement to make, we’re going to try something new. Our audience has been growing and we’re getting more and more questions, which we hugely appreciate…and I’m getting busier and the podcast is starting to feel a bit out of balance. Of course, we love doing it, but it does cost me money to host and about three hours per week of time. I think this podcast has provided an incredible amount of value at no cost whatsoever to the listeners and I’m proud of that, and I also want to even things out.So I have two solutions we’ll try out. I’ve created an easy way for you to tip the podcast however much you want. And using the same link, you can become a podcast member for 5 dollars per month. What do you get as a podcast member? So glad you asked:Obviously, the main thing you get is to support the paradigm and have the soul-level feeling of wholeness by paying a few bucks for the value you’re receiving. But you also get to participate in our new, monthly second Sunday live zoom broadcast. They’ll be held Sunday mornings Pacific time, so you folks in Europe can make it. You can get reads, reframes, analyses, get your burning questions answered, and more. You’ll be part of the conversation as much as you want to be. Our first second Sunday event is May 11, 2025, so you have a little time to sign up before then. I think the value of this is way beyond five bucks a month, so I hope you’ll join us.In addition, we may occasionally create members-only content in addition to that, and I will likely be reserving some of my funnier material for members-only contexts. For those of you who think I’m not nearly as funny as I think, that may be a downside, but I really think the second Sundays will be a beautiful coming together of like-hearted community that will make up for any of my failed comedic efforts. So whether you want to tip us or become a member, or both, the link is: clearandopen.com/hosTo reach any of us:Josef Shapiro: clearandopen.comEric Grace: eric-grace.comCasey Keth: [email protected] for being a supporter of the podcast, we appreciate you!

Ep 123Beyond Existential Victimhood (HOS123)
EToday, Eric Grace joins me again and we discuss what I learned from being bullied in a hardware store, the archetype of Freddy Krueger, overidentifying with compassion, stages of awakening, pseudo multiculturalism, and honestly so many other things I don’t even remember because I didn’t take notes. And this will be my last plug for my new course that starts, April 17, 2025. It’s called The Art of Open Connection: Deep listening, insight and truth. If I’ve impressed you at all with my awareness and intelligence, I’ll let you in on something. I wasn’t always like this and it can be learned. It’s a function of relational curiosity, deep listening, and paradigmatic processing. This course will cover these topics and more, and I can help you see your blindspots to see what you’re missing. You’re invited to join and can learn more at courses.clearandopen.com/open-connection

Ep 122The Right to Die, IVF, and Doing Hard Things (HOS122)
EToday, Edenity’s take on assisted suicide, in-vitro fertilization, dealing with conflict, and of course another installment of GTG.Also, I have a new course starting April 17, 2025. You’re invited to join and can learn more at courses.clearandopen.com/open-connectionThanks for listening.

Ep 121The Insidious Use of Mind to Process Reality (HOS121)
EToday, in addition to completing the EBE FAQ, a critique of Ken Wilbur’s integral approach, our broken political system and the immature electorate, existential control, state chasing, and much more. Of course, another edition of Guess the Guru with reigning champion, Eric Grace. Also, I have a new course starting April 17, 2025. You’re invited to join and can learn more at courses.clearandopen.com/open-connectionThanks for listening..

Ep 120Pain, Hunger, and the Rate of Change (HOS120)
EToday, existential disorientation triggers from daylight savings time, more frequently asked questions about EBE, adult relating to parents, criteria that qualifies someone to help others, the balance between meeting people where they are versus pushing them to move through their issues, and much more. Thanks for listening.

Ep 119The Energetic Limits of Internal Family Systems (HOS119)
EToday, Eric Grace and I take some listener questions about highly sensitive people and what a healthy relationship with parents looks like as an adult. We chip away at some frequently asked questions as well, including a juicy rabbit hole about the differences between EBE and Internal Family Systems which is the model that looks most similar to EBE from a distance. And Eric takes his first swing at a Guess the Guru meatball I toss him, all of that and more, coming up.Thanks for listening.

Ep 118Deconstructing Feministic Psychology (HOS118)
EToday, a special edition of the podcast where I read a piece of couple’s psychology to my friend and colleague Anja Schugardt. I’m coining a term in the title of this episode, “Feministic Psychology” to encapsulate what’s going on here. The piece I’ll be reading is by a woman named Nicole LePera, but she’s not the only psychologist out there synthesizing feminism into psychology and calling it a new paradigm, which if you understand paradigmatic processing, it isn’t. Synthesizing elements of two paradigms together doesn’t make a new paradigm and often creates messes where the two models contradict, as you’ll see.Feministic psychology, also being popularized by a guy named Terry Real, is a good example of where woke sensibilities infiltrate mass consciousness. It’s subtle to the untrained, and that’s why I wanted to read this piece line by line for a woman’s perspective. Lastly, Anja and I recorded this with an iphone on my lanai, so it’s not the quality you’re used to. Apologies for the wind distortion and hammock chain you’ll hear occasionally. And there is no video version of this podcast.

Ep 117The Myth of Attainment (HOS117)
EToday, a very rich conversation with my friend and colleague Eric Grace, who you’ve heard before on previous episodes. We talk about many things, and continue some of the frequently asked questions about EBE already in progress, but the main theme is what I’m calling the “myth of attainment” and is a hypothesis that redefines what attainment actually is in sage and sainthood if one begins with personhood. Thanks for listening.

Ep 116What Will Authentication Be Like For Me? (HOS116)
EToday, benchmarks on the path of EBE, demedications, what completion of EBE feels like, responsibilities of the facilitant, and other frequently asked questions as we continue this series. And of course, another riveting installment of Guess the Guru! Thanks for listening.

Ep 115How To Become A Saint (HOS115)
EToday, the distinction between creation- and creator-relational sainthood, objective vs. subjective reality in the context of spirituality, and some practical things you can do to deepen your relationship with Divinity. And of course, another riveting installment of Guess the Guru! Thanks for listening.

Ep 114Things, Not-Things, and Non-Things (HOS114)
EToday, incarnational imperatives in service, (by request) definitions of duality, preduality, and unality, and a couple new revisions to some old Edenity prayers. We’ll do more on Sainthood in the following episode, but this is a beginning to follow the thread we began last time. And of course, another installment of Guess the Guru that surprised the hell out of Stace, so stay tuned for that! Thanks for listening.

Ep 113Sainthood: Whether You Like It Or Not (HOS113)
EToday, some important Sainthood metacontext following our last episode and to set up for the following one: topics include the domains of authentication, origination, and provination; why it makes perfect sense that suffering must be addressed emotively, holoarchal versus hierarchical models for Divinity, and of course, another edition of Guess the Guru. Will Stace continue his winning streak? Listen to the end to find out! Thanks for listening.

Ep 112The Sugary Sweet Magical Neo-Vedanta (HOS112)
EToday, our first episode of 2025, we debrief my experience at a spiritual community’s holiday party, and make paradigmatic sense of why there was too much dessert and not enough dinner. Yes folks, this is how powerful paradigmatic processing of reality can be. Join us for an exploration of a class of paradigms we’ve not explored before, and so coining the now canonical term, “Magical Neo Vedanta.”Thanks for listening.

Ep 111If the Grinch Could Do Metaphysics (HOS111)
EToday, the nature of holiday conditioning, why every mythology needs a virgin birth, the difference between real and true, deconstructing faith and belief, and back by popular demand, another edition of “Guess the Guru.”

Ep 110The Rainbow at the End of the Bardo (HOS110)
EToday, the unalistic dynamic that unites the three hoods in enheartenment consciousness, the emergent soul-I, the reward that awaits you on the other side of the existential Bardo. Finally, our second installment of “Guess the Guru” to incentivize you to listen all the way to the end. Play at home and earn Edenity points!Quick reminder that I’ll be on Eric Grace’s clubhouse tomorrow, December 14, 2024. I’ll be joining Eric and Gertrud Wunschmann in the Wholly Human house 11am PST. Hope to see you there. Thanks for listening.

Ep 109The Indulgence of Feelings (HOS109)
EToday, feelings vs. emotions and the problem of indulgence, an AI version of Jesus coming soon to a confessional near you, catch and release paradigms, and of course much more. Thanks for listening.

Ep 108Let’s Play Guess The Guru! (HOS108)
EHi, it’s Josef and thanks for listening to The Heart of Soul Podcast. Today, deconstructing a passage from an enlightened teacher and making Stace play “guess the name,” (you can play along at home!), the seduction of shakti, and why sexual abuse happens so commonly among neo-Buddhist teachers. And just a quick reminder, coming up soon in Eric Grace’s clubhouse: Soulful unfoldments w/Eric, Josef & Gertrud Wunschmann. We’ll be exploring what it feels like to be here as our soulful selves while fielding & responding to questions from members of the audience on Clubhouse in the Wholly Human house 11am PST Saturday, 12/14/24.

Ep 107Communality Consciousness, Yin Divinity, & Emotive Bottoms
EToday, introducing communality consciousness, how Edenity would say that Trump’s election was God’s will but for a counter-intuitive reason, and what support actually means.

Ep 106Election Debrief: What Counterintuitively Went Right (HOS106)
EToday, we debrief the results of the U.S. presidential election and what it means on a spiritual level. We revisit the will vs. love issue as played out between the two major parties, how Trump’s election is a long-term win, and more playouts of extreme subjectivism. Thanks for listening.

Ep 105Election Special: Beyond Political Bypassing (HOS105)
EToday, a 2024 U.S. presidential election special! We discuss the referendum on greed vs. altruism before us, the difference between a republic and a democracy, the possibility of a government being redesigned while it’s still running, and perhaps most importantly the real meaning behind the 80s band “Devo.” I invited Eric Grace to join us today, and speaking of Eric:I want to let you know about a future event being hosted by Casey Keth, Gertrud Wunschmann, and Eric Grace called Soultouching: Being Here Together. This will be a three day retreat in Germany, from February 7-9th, 2025 exploring how our personal lives unfold within Divine Being and how to engage with ourselves and others in new soulful ways. You can sign-up or find out more info at: www.soultouchingevents.com.Lastly, I launched a separate channel for the podcast for clips produced by our friend Drew Martinez. Thanks very much, Drew! It’s a pleasure to see what a real professional can do, and we very much appreciate him donating his time to the Heart of Soul project. You can find the clips and shorts at https://www.youtube.com/@ClipsHeartofSoulPodcast. These are very shareable, greatest hits, so if you’re looking to start some interesting conversation with your friends and family, share away! Drew is going back all the way to the early episodes and we’ll be adding some of the most powerful pieces to the channel, so you’ll want to subscribe to that channel if you want to stay tuned. Thanks for listening!

Ep 104The Essence, Form, and Expression of Everything (HOS104)
EToday, unality, preduality, and duality, from essence to expression with metaphysics wrapped up in a bow so tight, you’ll think it’s October 1st in Venezuela and Christmas came early. We make some deep cuts at love versus energy, that which is behind that which is behind all things, and how exactly human existence is an expression of Divinity.

Ep 103Reality Summarized on a Page (HOS103)
EToday, the most fundamental metaphysics of Edenity, how they relate to the three primary soul fears, and a one pager that sums up over 100 podcast episodes. Fair warning: we’re referring to a chart that I have included in the Youtube version, so if you’re audio-only at the moment, you may want to go to the video. Thanks for listening.

Ep 102Why We Choose Archetypal Soul Baggage (HOS102)
EWe cover the scintillating and often misunderstood domain of past lives, archetypal souls, and what it means to you today. Why would anyone choose to bring a piece of an archetypal soul’s baggage into a human life? How should we relate to this? How does incarnational attribute planning work? These questions, including rabbit holes like how Mother Theresa set the stage for the collapse of the Catholic Church, the holiness of Walmart cosplay, and the absurdity of the upcoming U.S. election, coming up.

Ep 101Why People Don’t Do This Work (HOS101)
EToday, we celebrate our 100th episode with the ironic question, “Why do so few people do this work?” It was the only idea that came to me, along with two special guests, and I honestly thought we’d talk about something else, but it turned out to be a rich and real conversation. Related to why so few people do emotive body ensoulment, the entre to Edenity, we discuss the effect of the stage of Yin Divinity that began in 2013, the aloneness inherent in the work, and whether or not doing EBE limits your dating pool. So open a bottle of something and join us in celebration, and I toast to you if you’ve listened to us talk for about 150 hours.

Ep 100Celebrity Me/We Spacer Types (HOS100)
EBy request, we go deeper into spacer types, the holy trinity of soul species, enneagram type, and spacer type and how they operate together, and for illustration purposes and fun, assigning types to assorted celebrities. Thanks for listening.

Ep 99Dark Energies as Wounded Will vs. Evil (HOS99)
EToday, the fascinating and misunderstood subject of “dark energies.” Are there such things as demonic possessions and evil, parasitic influences from beyond? What are the governing dynamics of energetic predation of different kinds and how can you protect yourself from it? Will Venezuela have a second Christmas in December? Thanks for listening.

Ep 98Politics & the Power to Move Christmas (HOS98)
EWith the U.S. presidential election less than two months away, we offer some spiritual meta on politics today. How does one relate to politics spiritually? Why does it seem like the same people run the world everywhere and nothing ever changes? What soul species are drawn to government and why? And perhaps most importantly, what are the psychospiritual motives for a world leader to move a holiday? Thanks for listening.

Ep 97Who Needs Identity? (HOS97)
EThe nature and usefulness of identity is our topic today. Does the soul have an identity between lives? Is there such a thing as healthy conditioning? How is Yin Divinity affecting the fragility of identity and the emergence of soul? We also discuss the challenge of relating to Edenity in a testing mode that requires neither belief nor disbelief, a critical groove to find in the beginning. Lastly, Stace offers to teach a course on the premises of Edenity. If you’re interested, you can email him through edenity.org.Thanks for listening,

Ep 96The Rise & Fall of Nondual Seeking (HOS96)
EWe complete this recent, slightly interrupted series on Sagehood today with an unapologetic (see what I did there) comparison of various forms of eastern transcendental metaphysics and Edenity’s own Sagehood dharma. Topics include Edenity’s assertion of what we call the “pre-dual” versus the nondual, a key difference between awakening in men and women, and a possible future for enlightenment dharma that goes deeper than going upstream to just mind. Thanks for listening.

Ep 95An Apology for Arrogance (HOS95)
EIt’s been four months since we recorded and we are "forward." Thank you for your patience. Stace and I both were traveling at different times, I got Covid at one point, and various other things got in the way, but we are forging onward and it felt really great to record this one.Not only did you have to wait four months for us to complete the series on Sagehood that we began, but we’re pushing that off a week with an emergent topic brought to me via email that I thought would be good to address while it was hot. That topic is a very old question of “How arrogant is it to say what we say and how we say it?” We’re well aware of how off-putting our conversations can be to some people and this is what we have to say about it in terms of gold and green. Thanks for listening.

Ep 94How Zen’s Illusion of Self is Illusory (HOS94)
EToday, we continue with part two of a Sagehood series which is surely one of my favorite episodes thus far. This one was really profound for me personally and I hope it’s as powerful for you as well but you’ll have to pay close attention as the distinctions are very subtle. We talk about what the Buddha actually taught compared to other enlightenment teachings, and then compare all of that to Edenity’s version of Sagehood. This is a realm where distinctions go to die in experience, but the importance of the initial assumptions and how they influence where you arrive in awakening are very much alive regardless. Thanks for listening.

Ep 93Four Kinds of Enlightenment Paths (HOS93)
EToday, we begin a Sagehood series featuring four categories for enlightenment paths which make sense of an often confusing world of sagely teachings that aren’t metaphysically rigorous by our standards. We start by addressing the challenge of language from a Sagehood perspective and revisiting the issue of subjective vs. objective reality as context for this topic. Thanks for listening

Ep 92Why We Fear Intimacy (HOS92)
EToday, we complete the series on the thirteen principles of Personhood with more on codependence, compromise vs. negotiation, relatedness as a means to heal the fear of intimacy, how symmetrical issues work in romantic couples, and of course, much more.

Ep 91Solving a Millennia-Old Philosophical Dilemma and More (HOS91)
EToday, we warm up with why Edenity work doesn’t require integration, but digestion and how that’s different. We then continue our conversation from last time about Edenity’s challenge of traditional therapeutic boundaries and go on to cover the hugely significant resolution of revelatory vs. relative morality, and finish with a discussion of the universality of codependence. Thanks for listening.

Ep 90Limits of Therapeutic Boundaries & a Universal Morality (HOS90)
EToday, we continue our series on the thirteen fundamental assumptions of Personhood dharma in Edenity. We complete our deconstruction of altruism and other selflessness illusions and move onto a criticism of traditional therapist-client boundaries as impedimentary to real healing, and finish with the hugely philosophically important discovery of an emotive-based morality which we don’t complete until the next episode, so be sure to listen to 91 as well. Thanks for listening.

Ep 89Threatening & Offensive Truths, Continued (HOS89)
EToday, we continue our series on the thirteen fundamental assumptions of Personhood dharma in Edenity. We discuss the misguided pursuit of happiness, what substance abuse is really about, the nature of authentic self-love, and the false notions of altruism, sacrifice, and unconditional love. Thanks for listening.HOS

Ep 88Foundational Principles of Personhood (HOS88)
EToday, we begin discussion of the thirteen assumptions that Edenity’s Personhood dhama is based on. We’ve touched upon these ideas before but not gone through them in this more structured and thorough way. In this episode, we cover the first five which I’ll generally summarize: that we’re emotive being first, the four elements of human behavior, that there’s no such thing as a negative emotion, the need we have to feel felt as children, and the architecture of the emotional body. Thanks for listening.

Ep 87Embodiment of the Divine Human (HOS87)
EToday: the split between humanity and Divinity, the nature of conditioning, the ramifications of the self as sacred and essentially emotive, and of course, much more. Thanks for listening.

Ep 86An Effeminate Jesus and the Pre-Psychologicality of Religion (HOS86)
EToday: how an allegedly effeminate depiction of Jesus draws yet another display of Christian contradictions and flawed metaphysics, the importance of understanding religion as pre-psychological, and how and why every religion ends up being the opposite of what its founder intended. Thanks for listening.

Ep 85Prana Pathways, Energy, and Essence (HOS85)
EToday, chakras in the context of energy as downstream of essential emotivity, a revised treatment of the chakral system, chakral breathing techniques you can try, and much more. Thanks for listening.

Ep 84Time Travel, Simulation Theory, and Roe v. Wade (HOS84)
EHi, it’s Josef and thanks for listening to The Heart of Soul Podcast. You have to listen to the very end of this one to see how Stace magically ties together time travel, simulation theory, and the abortion issue. It’s a meta piece de resistance without any meaning in content for why they go together. Rabbit holes include the limits of brain-based consciousness models, the diagnostic delusions in western medicine, and why it might be good for you (and not just me) to be so frustrated with bad customer service that it makes you cry. Thanks for listening.

Ep 83How Coping and Self-Regulation Aren’t Good For You (HOS83)
EWe’re back after the holidays and wasting no time deconstructing compensatory mainstream psychological tools made by and for unconscious protectors. Today, we focus on the domain of coping and spiritualized self-regulation and how it enables people to stay immature, and can harm children as well. Thanks for listening.

Ep 82How To Understand Everything (HOS82)
EToday, the secret to understanding everything. Finally, the answers you’ve been looking for! Of course, understanding alone won’t lead to fulfillment and questions are far more important than answers, but our topic today, the metaphysics of metaphysics will help you quite a lot if you can learn to see reality through this lens. Also, we’re taking a break from recording at least for the rest of December. Stace and I both need some time off, but rest assured there’s plenty more to come. If you’re jonesing for a podcast, I do have another one called “Manage to Engage” that has some relevant crossover with Edenity, especially the later episodes. That podcast is more about the application of Edenity to the business world, which is always a fun tightrope to walk. There’s also a fair amount of pure zen sprinkled in there from that phase of my life. If you search for my name, Josef Shapiro, you’ll find Manage To Engage quite easily. Until next time, happy all-the-days, and we look forward to reconnecting in 2024. Thanks so much for listening!

Ep 81How Open Is Your Heart, Really? (HOS81)
EWhat if your heart were not nearly as open as you think? What if most of what we call emotions are actually superficial, downstream expressions of it? What if the way we relate to love, as something you give to or pour on another, is actually inaccurate? What if there were a way to open your heart so much you could barely stand it for a while, because that’s how closed it currently is relative to what could be?Thanks for listening.

Ep 80Are You Responsible For What You Don’t Know About Yourself? (HOS80)
EYou’re responsible for the contents of your unconscious. That’s the bad news, Edenity offers, but your reward is nothing less than the retrieval of your very soul in so doing. Rabbit holes include why some people are attracted to immortality, more comedy offered by the leaders of our world, how many shakes of the penis constitutes masturbation according to the Catholic Church, and a poem by yours truly about trigger warnings. Also, the new website Edenity.org is live. If you are curious about what you read on the new website and hear in this podcast, Brie & Stace are available live on zoom every two months. They will answer your questions, help with confusions, hold space for your feelings and provide reflections. The first one will take place on Thursday December 7, 2023. You can register for those curiosity circles on the event page of edenity.orgThanks for listening.

Ep 79Your Life Isn’t Yours (HOS79)
EYour life is not essentially yours, but you get to live it. That’s the Sainthood realization we discuss today. We talk about the qualitative difference between Sagehood and Sainthood awakenings, why doing the “hoods” in the prescribed order is important, the nausea of esoteric spirituality, how your soul-gifts are inevitably bound up in your emotional wounds, and as always, much more. Thanks for listening.
