As the data continues to bear out how dangerous this virus is, especially to the vulnerable, Trump's new favorite medical expert- a radiologist!- is promoting a herd immunity strategy with minimal testing. As the virus spreads through our population, places with the virus under control like New Zealand have detected virus on our meat exports- did we spark a fresh outbreak there?
And Dr. Michael Gregor joins Thom- has the Covid pandemic woken us up to diseases caught from animals? We've already traced HIV to butchering monkeys in Africa, as well as super-strains of influenza and antibiotic-resistant bacteria from American factory farms. As humans spread into new areas, and with so many farm animals and people on the planet, new strains of disease will go pandemic if we don't change our ways. Is our current food system worth it?
