Despite the terrifying prospect of DJT returning to the White House, the federal government is not the only political institution that can positively or negatively impact people's lives. There is also a lot at stake at the state and local level. Today, state and local governments are largely responsible for educating children, prosecuting crime, and protecting reproductive rights. Some down ballot victories can give us a chance for hope.
