The Taoiseach says the purpose of the education system is to teach children about the world around them, which includes transgender people. Leo Varadkar's comments come as the Catholic Primary School Managers Association has written to the government on the topic. In the letter the group said highly impressionable young children should not be taught what it means to be transgender.
