Show Notes

Episode 1 of the “Can’t Stay Like This” Lent series leading to Easter

Real freedom begins with honesty.

In Step 1 of Pastor James’ Can’t Stay Like This series, we explore the first and most important move toward spiritual change: owning the mess in our lives instead of hiding it. Confession isn’t weakness — it’s the doorway to healing, transformation, and freedom through Jesus.

If you’ve ever said, “I can’t stay like this, but I don’t know what to do,” this episode is your starting point.

Episode Summary

Many of us want change, but we avoid the first step that makes change possible: telling the truth about what’s broken. Scripture teaches that what we hide cannot be healed. When we stop covering our struggles and bring them into the light, God begins the process of restoring our hearts and renewing our lives.

In this devotional episode, we look at how confession opens the door to freedom, why there is a real spiritual battle happening inside us, and how the Holy Spirit empowers us to overcome patterns we thought would never change.

Freedom doesn’t begin when we try harder.

Freedom begins when we get honest.

“What am I still hiding?”
