Ego, in Andrea's word, is the sense of worthiness that drives our action. And to understand ego completely, the first step would be to have no awareness at all - egocentric unawareness that's running the show. The second stage is ego awareness and observation. Third stage is the ego eagle stage - where you learn and then pick and choose what you like and don't like. And the last stage is self-mastery.
