Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first following the world trodden path of trying to put score board pressure on a team low on confidence. The skipper, Scott Edwards lead the way with a slow but timely 68, dragging his team to a score that maybe defensible. How would Bangladesh fair? Not too well is the answer, four quick wickets in the top order bought it's own chaos, Bangladesh flailing to a lowly 142 all out losing by 87 runs.
