Joseph's time in prison ends. But not for 2 long years. He interpreted dreams for Pharaoh's cup bearer and baker. His interpretation was correct, one died, one lived. The cupbearer lived and was restored to chief cupbearer but he failed to honor Joseph by reporting to Pharaoh what happened in prison. Until one unexpected day, Pharaoh had a dream.
