The Biblical Roots of Music
As a student of the Bible, I find it fascinating how music plays a pivotal role in spiritual practices. For instance, in 1 Samuel 16:23, we see how David’s harp playing soothed King Saul:
> "And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him."
This scripture highlights music's ability to bring peace and comfort, a theme that resonates throughout the Bible.
Music as a Divine Gift
Music is often viewed as a gift from God. In Ezekiel 28, we learn about Lucifer, the beautiful angel, who was created with music in him:
"Every precious stone was thy covering: the sardius, topaz, and the diamond... the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created."
Lucifer was designed to bring music to the heavens, emphasizing the beauty and power of sound as a divine creation.
