Show Notes
Martha Bourlakas launched Storied Goods, a celebration business that creates infused Sugar Cubes for cocktails, coffee, and tea, in 2018. However, Martha considers 2022 the true start of her business. 2022 was the year Martha focused on foundational internal goals like identifying and onboarding a co-packer, transitioning accounting software and bookkeeping firms, setting up invoicing and sales systems and negotiating the rates she needed to succeed long term.
In this episode, Sarah is joined by Martha, and welcomes back Ashley Sutterfield, founder of Sage. Together they are walking through the ways they worked together to prepare for the growth of Storied Goods, and how that work changed Martha’s mindset about business.
You’ll hear:
-
Why successfully scaling Storied Goods meant slowing down, and focusing on the internal systems before focusing on growth
-
What finding the right partners can mean for your business
-
Why goal setting should be a deeply personal matter
-
And a lot more
Ashley and Martha will join Sarah inside The Good Food CFO Community for a Live Q&A on Thursday, March 9th. Sign up today to learn more about this event.
