There are two goddesses in the Greek and Roman pantheon that are primarily seen as blindfolded; Fortuna and Themis. Fortuna has a cornucopia with coins, fruits, vegetables and all kinds of earthly possessions pouring out. Fortuna is also blindfolded as if to represent that luck is blind and meaning that life wasn't always fair to everyone. Fortuna bestows her blessings on the lucky ones to represent that some energies you don't have to work for, they just come naturally.
Fortuna is also the patron goddess of the Roma Gypsies. Oftentimes she is portrayed with the Wheel of Fortune. Join April, Harmony and Maggie this week as they look into the relationships between the blindfolded goddesses and the Wheel of Fortune and Justice in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. They also discuss Karma, Dharma and the Law of Cause and Effect and how it may play a role with the blindfolded blessings of Fortuna.
