Early morning brings scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10 A.M, the coast sees the best chance between 6 and 9 A.M. After that, partly sunny skies take over with southwest winds around 5 miles an hour. As the sun sets. Tonight stays mild — lows only drop to the low 60s statewide. Warm enough that some record high minimum temperatures could fall. Wednesday cranks up the heat even more, metro Atlanta reaches 82 degrees. The coast climbs to 86. Eastern Georgia? A scorching 89 degrees — some spots could flirt with 90. Near-record highs are in play, southwest winds pick up to 10 miles an hour, gusting to 25.
