Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Georgia Weather Podcast for Tuesday, February 24th. Folks, Georgia pulled a fast one overnight. Savannah dropped to 29 degrees around 6 A.M. Metro Atlanta? Twenty six degrees at 5 A.M., feeling like 20 with that wind. Freeze Warnings hold until 9 A.M. If you haven't wrapped those pipes yet.. You're running out of time. Now the wild part. By 4 P.M., Atlanta climbs to 53 degrees. That's a 30 degree swing before dinner. Your morning jacket becomes your afternoon annoyance. Coastal Georgia rebounds to 54 degrees by 4 P.M. Winds ease from northwest to west around 9 A.M. Over in eastern Georgia, you'll hit 54 degrees by 5 P.M. Light winds shift west around 7 A.M. Sunshine everywhere. Gorgeous afternoon. But there's a catch nobody's talking about. Between 11 A.M. And 7 P.M., humidity crashes to 20 percent across north and central Georgia. Fire Danger Statements are active. One stray spark and you've got a problem. Skip the burn piles today. Tonight, clouds roll in. Atlanta settles to 39 degrees. Eastern Georgia dips to 37. The coast holds at 39. Nothing dramatic. Just a quiet transition night. Wednesday gets interesting. Atlanta pushes to 62 degrees with southwest gusts to 25 miles an hour. The coast warms to 67 degrees. Eastern Georgia hits 66. Spring is knocking. Then Thursday.. Rain finally shows up. A cold front drags showers across Atlanta by morning. Highs reach 67 degrees. The coast could touch 72 degrees before the storms arrive. Thunderstorms are possible along the coastline. Friday stays wet, especially south. Scattered storms linger. The weekend though? That's your reward. Saturday brings sunshine and upper 60s statewide.
