Who Pastors These Presidential Candidates?
We tell the story of David Daleiden and the Grand Jury in Harris County, Texas. It's a true David and Goliath condition. David spends $120,000 and Goliath gets $500 million from the United States Federal Government. Also. . .It is uncanny. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump sound just like their pastors. Here we contrast the candidates with the teachings of the United Methodists and Norman Vincent Peale.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Why Rock Singers Die Young
The 27 club is made up of Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, and others -- rock singers, all dead at 27. The Fifth Commandment does mean something and so do Proverbs 3:2 and Proverbs 10:27. We also walk through the relationship of country music with the Christian faith. Is it more shallow today than ever before? This may be, because country music follows the heartland of the country. We provide a few guidelines to determine whether a folks song, a love song, or a gospel song is edifying or not. This program includes: 1. The World View in Five Minutes with Adam McManus (Pope Apologizes to Protestants on 500th Anniversary, A Trump-less Debate for the Republicans, Naghmeh Abedini Files Divorce Papers) 2. Trump - Hope of America or Dangerous Man
Some conservatives call Trump the last great hope for America. Others have called him a dangerous man. A little humble repentance would have helped his reputation among Christians. Is there any hope for America? Are these brave slogans about making America great just a bunch of hot air? We take a look at the rising pessimism among conservative talk show hosts, comparing it to the optimism that needs to characterize Christians. Conservatives want immigration controls, school uniforms for kids, and more Cicero and less Michael Moore in the public schools. Of course, none of that will ever salvage the republic. What do Christians want? Repentance, God's mercy, and the fear of God as the beginning of wisdom.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Returning Masculinity to the Church
Cage-fighting pastors? What would Augustine of Hippo think? What would George Whitfield think? Some argue for the return of masculinity to the church, but is this how it is defined. . .biblically? What we really need - less man, more God in the worship and the life of the church.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Why Gun Control and Government Regulations Don't Work
Many of our political debates surround a wrong view of man, a bad anthropology. Kevin Swnason interviews Dr. George Scipione from the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors on why people do bad things, and how governments are limited in what they can do to address the root problems.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Illegitimacy - The Bane of All Western Nations
The Economistmagazine finally admits the great Achilles heel for the Western nations illegitimacy. Here's the other admission: policymakers just can't figure out how to change the trend! We explain why this is the case and discuss what Christians should do about it.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Battle for the Christian College
The evangelical Christian college is a battleground for the hearts and minds of the next generation. The national squabble over the Wheaton College professor who claims the same God for Islam and Christianity illustrates the point. Kevin Swanson also points out that Title IX and Pell Grants have forced the door open for feminism and homosexuality in the Christian college. Do feminism and homosexuality represent roughly the same agenda?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
The Homosexual Who Ruined the World
The world economy is on the brink of a massive collapse. The three largest economies America, China, and Japan have spent the last ten years testing out John Maynard Keynes's recipe for stimulating economies by massive debt. The debt-to-GDP ratios have doubled in just the last 8-10 years, unprecedented in human history. It's all a massive experiment with Keynes's theories. So, Kevin Swanson takes a moment to explore the life of the great genius who came up with this grand scenario. A recent book on Keynes's life exposes the unrestrained sexual debauchery that marked his adult life between 1910 and 1940. The account is horrifying. However, this gives us even more reason to abandon human wisdom (the gods of the marketplace), and return to the wisdom of God.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Finally London Churches Are Growing Again
Finally, the old, dead, liberal Protestants are dying out in England and the West! And, praise God, the immigrants in London, New York, and elsewhere are flocking into Christian churches! The kingdom of God marches on despite the apostasy of the West, and we're celebrating in the Generations studio. Kevin Swanson makes one caveat: we just hope they don't send their children to the humanist public schools that will destroy their faith as well.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
When the Socialist State Grabs the Kids
Officials have confiscated all five children from a Norwegian family because one of the daughters let it slip . . . the family believes that God punishes sin. The confiscation of children from Christian parents may be the highest form of tyranny, and it is practiced in socialist nations. Romanian Christians are protesting at Norwegian embassies on account of this tyranny. Also, a pharmacy family business in Washington state is about to be closed down because the family won't budge on abortifacients. Kevin Swanson suggests businesses that might allow for a little more freedom over the next twenty years as the tyrannical control of the modern fascist state rises.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Pope: Christians, Muslims Worship Same God
Recent statements from the pope discourage evangelism among Jews and Muslims. This makes for an interesting historical shift. How does the "church" move from torturing the dissenters and forcing church membership by sheer force, to universal inclusivism? It seems to a shift from tyrant to sycophant. Kevin Swanson points out that the Bible does include several blanket statements, especially in relation to the Lord Jesus Christ. The language is all but inclusive.New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
Great Heroes of Faith in the 20th Century
After reviewing the heroes in the city of man, we contrast the heroes of faith in the 20th century, of whom the world is not worthy. Kevin Swanson lists those who maintained a strong faith despite the massive apostasy that blew across England, America, and the West. They stood for the centrality of God against the centrality of man, while humanism was on the rise. They are theologians, pastors, cultural leaders, creation science apologists, evangelists, and persecuted saints of the 20th century (and the 21st century).New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
David Bowie and the Sexual Revolution
David Bowie is being characterized as the greatest cultural leader in England's modern history. He was ahead of the Beetles, Elton John, and others as he tried to get out in front of the sexual revolution. He walked the delicate line between decadence and nihilism as well, and then he tipped over. Kevin Swanson also reviews the great heroes and the recent obituaries included in recent Economist magazines. How do you make your mark, and what makes for a great life, as defined by modern humanists?New kids and family podcast from Generations - TeachMeTheFaith.com
