The Bush legacy has been the funding of Planned Parenthood’s contraceptives and abortifacients (all the way back from Prescott and George H.W.). Will the Republicans and Trump really cut Title X funding of contraceptives? Hard to believe. Will the Republicans defund the Department of Education and Pell Grants? Really doubtful. George W. Bush tripled the size of the department. Will the Trump administration provide for a better Supreme Court appointment than Souter and Sandra Day O’Connor? Will the Republican picks be better than the Roe V. Wade Court, where 5 out of the 7 pro-choicers were Republican nominees? We’ll see. We provide a list of goals for the administration coming out of the gate on this edition of the program.
